Twitter is soon launching a 24-hour streaming news channel in partnership with the Bloomberg Media.

Twitter is treading into territory staked out by the likes of CNN and Fox News.

The social player has teamed with Bloomberg Media to launch a 24-hour news channel in the fall of 2017

The new channel “will combine the vast global editorial and news gathering capabilities of Bloomberg with the digital power of Twitter,” Michael Bloomberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey declared at New York

The live streaming channel to be launched later this year will include user-generated content from Twitter, verified by Bloomberg editors.

The free, ad-supported channel will feature original live news dispatches from Bloomberg along with third-party video content culled from other sources

“Today’s worldwide news shopper needs and needs more than what’s as of now accessible,” said Justin Smith, CEO of Bloomberg Media.

“With this new system, we are embarking to rethink the computerized breaking news encounter.”

Twitter had previously partnered with Bloomberg to live e-stream select programming on the platform, as well as the 2016 U.S. presidential debates.

Anthony Noto , Head Working Officer said “Twitter’s speed and inconceivable worldwide system of substance and discourse joined with the astounding, publication meticulousness of Bloomberg is a one of a kind and intense blend.”

Of Twitter’s Q1 live video, 51% was sports and eSports, 35% was news and politics, and 14% was entertainment (including red-carpet coverage of the 2017 Grammy Awards). About 60% of its unique video viewers are outside the U.S., about 55% are under the age of 25. It has signed more than 200 content partners to date.

Money related subtle elements of the new pursuit were not uncovered.
