Kangana Ranaut hospitalized after sustaining injury on the sets of her upcoming film ‘Manikarnika : The Queen of Jhansi’. She was shooting a sword fight sequence with co-star Nihar Pandya. She was rushed to a hospital after a sword fight scene went wrong. The shooting happened in Hyderabad and the actress was taken to Apollo hospital and admitted at the ICCU. She is expected to be discharged next week.

Kangana Ranaut Injured In Sword-Fight Scene:  

  • Kangana Ranaut was shooting a sequence with co-star Nihar Pandya.
  • In the scene, she was expected to duck when Nihar swung the sword at her.
  • The timing was wrong, the sword hit her between her eyebrows resulting in 15 stitches.
  • Kangana was immediately rushed to Apollo hospital.
  • Doctors said that the injury may leave a scar.
  • In addition,they also said it was a close shave for her because the cut was too close to her bone.

Producer Kamal Jain was quoted as saying:

  • Kamal Jain, producer of ‘Manikarnika : The Queen of Jhansi’, told about the incident.
  • He said, Kangana had to duck when Nihar attacked her.
  • However, the timing went wrong and Nihar’s sword hit her forehead instead.
  • In addition it made a deep cut between her eyebrows.
  • He also concluded that the drive to the hospital took a good 30 minutes.
  • She put up a brave front despite the pain and bleeding, ‘says producer.
  • Nihar was apologetic and felt terrible, but Kangana pacified him,he said.

Kangana had chosen to do fight sequences herself:

  • Kangana had rehearsed for the scene several times.

  • Apparently, the ‘Queen’ had chosen not to use a body double for the shoot.
